There is something really special about London in the summer…I’ve lived in many places, and I never missed England one bit. But I ALWAYS missed London, especially in the summertime. Yesterday was my birthday – and it was a gloriously hot day, too hot / bright / oppressive for daytime street shooting so I decided to go later in the day – catch some nicer, more forgiving light and a more comfortable feel in the air. The thought of a cool breeze off the river had me thinking….the South Bank would be a cool place to shoot.

I come to this part of town all the time. I walk up and down from the Wheel to Blackfriars, all along the riverbank, venturing on to the beach if the tide is out. It wasn’t this time – but as the day wore on the crowds thinned and I was able to walk, sit, eat and drink as I pleased without the constant hassle of tourists with selfie sticks.

The skatepark was cool. Its always cool – they love to be photographed. The nut vendors not so much. My best pic of the day was deleted as per his request. No idea why, but its his prerogative and his personal space. I’m not a dickhead. I delete. But I still think it was un-necessary.
